Kuching was named a UNESCO City of Crafts and Folk Art, but let’s be honest—it is also a paradise for food lovers! If you are staying at The Hotel, you don’t have to travel far to experience Sarawak’s incredible local culinary scene.
Here are a few must-try food spots located just minutes away from us:
- Sarawak Laksa: You cannot visit Kuching without having a bowl of our famous Sarawak Laksa for breakfast. The aromatic, spicy, and creamy shrimp-based broth topped with shredded chicken and omelette strips is legendary. There are several popular coffee shops just a short drive from the homestay serving up authentic bowls.
- Kolo Mee: A staple comfort food for locals. These flash-boiled noodles are tossed in a savory lard/oil mixture, topped with minced meat and char siu (barbecue pork). Ask for the merah (red) version if you like a hint of sweet char siu sauce!
- Local Food Courts & Cafes: The 3rd Mile and Boulevard areas nearby are packed with local kopitiams (coffee shops), modern cafes, and food courts offering everything from fresh seafood to casual western food.
Whether you want a quick, comforting bite between hospital appointments or want to head out for a full foodie adventure, our central location puts you right in the middle of Kuching’s best flavors.

Had the best time at this hotel. It really creates such an atmosphere as if you are on an abandoned island with untouched nature. This is a rest not only for body but for soul & mind as well.
I like places where you can unite with nature. After visiting their website I chose this place for vacation and this decision was truly right. 10/10
